I'm a JavaScript Full Stack Developer focused on building practical applications that solve real problems and make everyday life easier. I work across Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB on the backend, with React and Next.js on the frontend. I use AI tools as part of my workflow, but I make sure I can explain and rebuild every line myself.

My Journey

I started programming in 2024 with C. The first code I ever wrote used simple if/else logic and a loop to animate a man walking with an umbrella in the rain in Turbo C. Seeing something I had written come to life on the screen for the first time sparked my interest in programming.

How I Use AI

I use AI-assisted coding, but with a rule: never blind. Tools like this are useful as a starting point, not a substitute for understanding what the code actually does — if I can't explain a line, I go back and reverse-engineer it until I can. I learned this the hard way while building GrowHabits: a stretch of vibe-coded sessions cost me more time undoing and re-learning than it saved. The final architecture — three days of writing it properly by hand — is the version I'm proud of.

GrowHabits is a habit-and-routine tracker I designed after looking into what parents of average 9-year-olds actually struggle with. Kids today are more anxious, more irritable, and more phone-dependent than a few years ago, and I wanted to build something around that problem instead of a generic to-do app.

The core idea is built on daily reward loops rather than long-term ones — a small win today (a treat, a "well done," an evening show) is what makes a brain want to repeat the effort tomorrow. Long-term rewards don't work the same way for a 9-year-old. I designed the reward structure around that, then built the planner on top of it in Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.

Beyond Programming

Fun fact — I fish. Not the boat-and-cast-net kind — I'm talking about angling. Saltwater, coastal, that's my thing, and it clears my head more than almost anything else.

Fishing is a gamble no matter how much you study it: you can land 10 fish in 15 minutes or sit for 5 hours and catch nothing. I watch a lot of angler vlogs on YouTube trying to shorten that learning curve, and I keep at it anyway even on the bad days.

Best catch so far: a 2kg queenfish. Two still on the bucket list — a giant grouper and a barracuda.

Current setup: 13 ft rod, 7000-size reel, 35 lb fluorocarbon leader, 40 lb braid.
